"I always laid vegetables out on a circle , each with its own section like a slice of pie," (Chevalier, 5) The makeup around my eyes represents the way I'd like to define visual art in my life. I want to pursue it further, hopefully as a career, perhaps in a hair, makeup, or sketching.
The hood represents a way of hiding, almost, as I don't like being very loud or flamboyant, and would like to stay that way. "I crept into the vast place, feeling like a mouse hiding in a rich man's house," (Chevalier, 65). I'd rather stay hidden, even if I want to make a difference in the world. I think that everyone does, in a way. Nobody wants to be forgotten. Another symbol is the fact that I'm expressionless. It conveys a sense of calm, the way I'd like to have my life. I don't want to be extremely well known, but rather to make a difference in a quiet way.
The hood seems a very good way to represent what you're thinking. Maybe in a way, it tied in with Griet's way of thinking? How she wanted to be more reserved, perhaps by not showing her hair. It's a very nice way of conveying what you wish to be in the future, and how you want to continue your career in the arts. I believe you can make a difference in anyway you'd like.
ReplyDeleteI really like how you said you will focus on more important things in life. I feel that focusing on more important things would help us in life. Although I like a calm life I also like a life full of excitement. Sometimes you are gonna need some excitement. I also agree on pursuing a career in makeup, hair, or sketching, but I would also like to try out new things. I thought your makeup really stood out. You did a great job!
